Location: Public Consumption Environment
Status: Visual Documentation Before Consumption
Food arrives.
This is the intended outcome of the restaurant visit.
Consumption should follow.
It does not.
A pause is initiated.
Devices are retrieved.
Subjects engage in a brief but highly focused documentation sequence, including:
– Plate repositioning for optimal lighting
– Utensil rearrangement to reduce visual interference
– Multiple angle testing
– Temporary suspension of all other table activity
Temperature decline is accepted.
Aesthetic optimization is prioritized.
Companions display conditioned patience.
No one eats.
Not yet.
Captured images are reviewed immediately.
Approval is required before proceeding.
In some cases, additional edits are performed prior to distribution.
Only after successful documentation does consumption begin.
Notably, flavor is never improved by this process.
Experience is not enhanced.
However, the moment becomes transferable.
This appears to be the objective.
We do not question the ritual.
We simply note that hunger is briefly subordinate to visibility.
